Thoughtful details for a meaningful ceremony

Writing personal vows

Most couples prefer to write their own vows. The reason is that vows can and should be a highly personal exchange of deep feeling that you have for your soon-to-be husband or wife. Some couples even prefer to exchange those vows in private before their ceremony. For those who feel they need assistance writing vows, Carole offers both vow creation and vow-writing assistance.

Choosing readings

A special reading during a ceremony adds to the uniqueness of the couple and brings meaning and depth—sometimes even humor—to the wedding. These readings can be religious, spiritual, philosophical, or comedic, depending on the feeling you want as part of your ceremony. When creating your ceremony, Carole provides you with three options for special readings. She chooses those readings after getting to know you both through the Couple’s Questionnaire or a Zoom meeting.

Working with a planner and officiant

Your officiant is a necessity. A planner is optional, although highly recommended. Your wedding, while joyful, is also inherently stressful. Pulling together all the moving parts is time-consuming and often challenging. You can select a planner from the first moment you begin planning, or choose someone for month-of or day-of support. Professional planners are available for each of those options. If hiring a planner is not feasible, some couples ask a highly organized friend or relative to fulfill that role. Whichever you choose, it will be an invaluable gift you give yourself so that you can enjoy your special day.

Helping the ceremony feel calm, meaningful, and personal

No public event in your life will be more personal than this day. Carole’s hallmark approach and reputation are built on bringing a caring, personal, and meaningful presence to your ceremony. Whether she gets to know you by speaking with you, reviewing your questionnaire answers, or meeting on Zoom, Carole’s passion for making your wedding ceremony unforgettable is evident in both the ceremony content and her heartfelt officiating style.

Common mistakes couples can avoid

  • Apply for the marriage license in a timely manner and have it in hand at the ceremony for signatures.
  • Share your full story with the officiant so the ceremony does not sound generic. Your officiant can only work with what they have been given.
  • Fully discuss your vision for the tone of the ceremony.
  • Indicate whether you want religious references or readings included—or specifically excluded.
  • Make certain your officiant has the final timeline.
  • Make certain your planner and officiant have spoken in advance to finalize the timing of the processional.
